Libby’s®, the nation’s second largest brand of canned vegetables, launched its fifth annual “Cansgiving” sweepstakes on Monday, November 6, encouraging fans to submit photos highlighting what makes them thankful during the holidays. Be it old or new family traditions, recipes passed down from generation to generation, or quiet but memorable moments spent with loved ones, the iconic fruits and vegetables company invites all to share their inspiration for gratitude. All month long, recipes and entertaining tips to help navigate this holiday season will also be available on Libby’s website (www.getbacktothetable.com).
To enter the Cansgiving sweepstakes, fans can snap a photo of what they are most thankful for and upload it to www.GetBacktoTheTable.com/Cansgiving, or share on the Libby’s Facebook page or their personal Twitter or Instagram pages using the hashtags #Cansgiving and #sweepstakes. Ten participants, chosen at random, will be awarded with an electronic gift card of $350 and an assortment of Libby’s fruits and vegetables for their family’s holiday feast.
For the second year, Libby’s has also partnered with three charities to further foster the spirit of this holiday season. Each winner will be asked to select one of three charities that will receive a matching monetary and product donation made on behalf of Libby’s, for a total of $3,500 in donations.
- Meals on Wheels America, the oldest and largest national organization supporting the more than 5,000 community-based senior nutrition programs across the country that are dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. This network exists in virtually every community in America and, along with more than two million volunteers, delivers the nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks that enable America’s seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity.
- City Harvest pioneered food rescue in 1982 and, this year, will collect 59 million pounds of excess food to help feed the nearly 1.3 million New Yorkers struggling to put meals on their tables. Through relationships with farms, grocers, restaurants, and manufacturers, City Harvest collects nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it free of charge to 500 soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the five boroughs. In addition, our Healthy Neighborhoods initiative addresses long term food insecurity through community partnerships that work to increase access to affordable and wholesome food. - Children’s Hunger Alliance, founded in 1970 in Columbus, is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in Ohio. The organization’s mission is to ensure children without access receive healthy food, nutrition education and physical activity. The organization works with community partners including child care providers, schools, afterschool enrichment programs and summer feeding programs to provide millions of nutritious meals and snacks to Ohio’s 1 in 5 children who struggle with hunger.
The sweepstakes opened at noon EST on Nov. 6, 2017, and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on Nov. 20, 2017. Official rules are available at http://www.getbacktothetable.com/cansgiving.
“Everyday life can get hectic, but the holiday season gives us the opportunity to spend time creating cherished memories with family and friends,” said Bruce Wolcott, Vice President of Marketing for Seneca Foods. “With our annual sweepstakes, we want to show our gratitude for our customers who allow us to be part of their celebration by bringing us to their kitchens and dinner tables. We are also thankful for the opportunity to join these organizations again in their incredible work to help fight hunger in America, even in a small way by matching each prize with a donation.”
